Policies & FAQs

Welcome to the fine print of the beautifully weird. We want your time at Longmont Community Studio to feel inspiring, safe, and easy. Here’s what you need to know:

General

Q: Do I need experience?
A: Nope. We love beginners, dabblers, and the “I haven’t drawn since middle school” crowd.

Q: What if I make a mess?
A: Then you’re doing it right. Creativity isn’t clean. We have brooms.

Q: Can I just come hang out without taking a class?
A: Some events will be open-studio style, others are structured classes. Keep an eye on our calendar for “drop-in” nights.

Classes & Events

Q: What if I miss a class?
A: Life happens. Let us know, and we’ll do our best to get you caught up or encourage you to embrace the mystery of missing one piece.

Q: Do you offer refunds?
A: Refunds are available up to 7 days before the first class. After that, your fee goes straight into our “Keep the Lights On” fund.

Q: How big are classes?
A: Intimate, usually 8–12 people. Enough for energy, not enough to get lost in the crowd.

Materials & Supplies

Q: Do I need to bring anything?
A: Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Each class description will list what you need. Worst case, bring curiosity, we’ll figure the rest out.

Q: Can I bring my own tools or materials?
A: Absolutely. Just no Chainsaws (unless for ice sculptures?) Ok, that actually sounds pretty fun.

Odds & Ends

Q: Can kids come?
A: Some classes are kid-friendly, some aren’t. If you’re unsure, ask. If your kid is cooler than you, definitely bring them.

Q: Can I bring snacks or drinks?
A: Yes! Creative brains run on snacks. Please label your wine bottle if you don’t plan to share.

Q: What if I have accessibility needs?
A: Reach out, we’ll do everything we can to make sure you’re comfortable and included.

Photos & Media

We love sharing the magic of our community, but only with consent.

  • We may take photos during classes or events for our website/socials.

  • If you’d rather not be photographed, just tell us when you arrive. Easy as that.

Safety & Consent

  • Figure Drawing: no photos, no exceptions. Respect the models.

  • Taxidermy: all specimens are ethically sourced. PPE (gloves, coats or aprons, and eye protection) is provided.

  • Cocktails & Mocktails: safety first. We teach responsible tasting, not heavy pours.

  • Halloween FX: all products are skin-safe, but we’ll patch test first to avoid surprises.
